Night vision devices are needed when even the most powerful binoculars with a high twilight factor reach their optical limits. Using digital infrared technology, they amplify the available residual light, such as the light frequencies of stars or horizon radiation not perceived by the human eye. With the new MINOX NVD, the infrared-sensitive CMOS sensor detects the infrared radiation and displays the image on the monitor in the viewfinder. In contrast to conventional tube-based night vision devices, it is not sensitive to strong light sources, thanks to its digital technology, and can also be used during the day if necessary. The optical system provides a 2-fold magnification and the 16 powerful infrared LEDs are suitable for use in total darkness up to a distance of 60 m.
