30” long, maneuverable and stable crossbow with less than 12” axle to axle length when loaded, with the weight balanced in the shooter’s hand thanks to the inverted bow and the wraparound riser. This structure puts the most efficient part of the limbs in the conditions to produce a bolt exit velocity of 440 fps with only 15’ of power stroke. The cam system centers the string and makes it move in the same plane throughout the length of the power stroke. Unlike the one-piece aluminum rails of conventional crossbows that reduce the speed, efficiency and life of the bolt, the AX440 barrel eliminates the rail and uses two carbon rods along the length of the barrel. Combined with a fully wraparound riser and adjustable rest, these features create a system where the bolt exits with minimal contact, friction and torque throughout its path. The result is greater efficiency; accuracy, and speed. The AX440 also takes advantage of the 19' micro diameter (.166 ID) dart to improve accuracy, durability, penetration and safety. The interaction between the dart's wraparound aluminum nock and the string provides an audible click that signals a complete lock. This increases safety.
