Description Only ring to screw on the eyepiece thread of the Leica Calonox Sight thermal imager. It fits with a bayonet to the other part of the Rusan modular adapter that is applied to the objective of the riflescope. Rusan has produced a TWO-PIECE MODULAR ADAPTER, which offers three advantages over the standard one-piece one. You can use the Calonox Sight for observing with the Rusan ring mounted, to be ready to quickly attach it to the riflescope, enjoying the entire field of view perfectly. If you do the same with the one-piece Rusan adapter mounted on the Calonox, the thickness of the adapter tube makes observation less comfortable. The transition from observation to aiming of the Calonox Sight is very quick. Just insert the calonox with the Rusan ring in the right position (indicated by the white arrows on the ring and on the other part of the adapter mounted on the riflescope) and rotate the locking ring less than a quarter of a turn. Two seconds. The Calonox fits perfectly aligned to the scope. This is the least intuitive but most important advantage, compared to what happens when using the one-piece adapter. With the latter, in fact, it is necessary to make sure that the Calonox is centered with respect to the line of sight of the scope, otherwise the reticle of the scope itself will appear rotated to the right or left. The forced position of the ring on the rest of the adapter allows you to perfectly center the part to be fixed on the scope before going out, and thus be sure that when you go to fit the Calonox Sight it will immediately be perfectly centered. Another important time saving, especially at night. HOW THE MODULAR ADAPTER WORKS The Rusan modular adapter is made up of two parts: a ring that screws onto the Calonox Sight eyepiece and can remain screwed onto the eyepiece even during observation, and an element that is inserted and fixed onto the objective of the riflescope, closing the appropriate lever with your finger once the adapter is at the end of its travel, making sure to center it with the white arrow at 12 o'clock with respect to the objective of the riflescope. To use the Calonox for observing, the Rusan ring screwed onto the eyepiece certainly does not offer the comfort of the soft rubber Leica eyecup, but compared to the one-piece adapter it allows you to keep your eye at the optimal distance from the lens. CONNECTING THE CALONOX TO THE MODULAR ADAPTER OPTIC IS VERY QUICK The white arrow on the Rusan ring that screws onto the Calonox eyepiece indicates where to insert it in correspondence with the white arrow on the Rusan element mounted on the objective of the optic, then it is sufficient to rotate the sliding locking ring (lock) located on the element itself by less than a quarter of a turn. The additional advantage of this adapter is that the ring (with the Calonox) has a forced insertion position, which ensures that the Calonox is positioned perfectly in line with the line of sight, avoiding further adjustments to get the reticle perfectly in line with the Calonox screen.
