When working with the dark field method a dark field condenser is used. The dark field method in stereomicroscopy is used for gemological research – evaluation and detection of hidden defects in precious, semi-precious and ornamental stones.
The dark field condenser is installed above the transmitted light illuminator: on the base of the stereomicroscope and in place of the transparent panel.
