The MAGUS Pol 800 polarizing microscope is used to study anisotropic objects in polarized and ordinary transmitted light. The objects of study can be biological, geological or polymeric. The microscope optics are voltage-free, meaning they do not create parasitic refractions. It forms a clear, high-contrast and authentic image. The functionality of the microscope is useful in various fields of science: medicine, forensics, mineralogy, petrography, crystallography, etc.

Digital camera

The camera Professional scientific MAGUS CBF70 is designed for use with a microscope as well as 4x, 10x, 20x and 40x objectives. The device allows you to take photographs, shoot videos, organize demonstrations, display images on an external screen and perform angular and linear measurements of study objects (for this function to be performed correctly, the software must be calibrated). The camera is recommended for working with the bright field method.

The MAGUS CBF70 camera has five image resolution and frame rate modes, so among them you can easily find the one that best suits your needs. your needs: 5280x3954 px (17 fps), 3952x3952 px (17 fps), 2640x1976 px (56 fps), 1760x1316 px (67 fps) and 584x438 px (192 fps).
The high resolution modes are ideal for photography, allowing you to create clear, vibrant and highly detailed images. Modes with increased frame rate will help when recording smooth and informative video, without jumps and delays, recording the smallest movements of the object or features of fast processes observed.
To obtain the best image quality without distortions , it is recommended to use an adapter with 1x magnification.

The camera design uses a 4/3” color back-illuminated SONY Exmor CMOS sensor. It makes the image bright even in a low-light environment. The larger physical size of the sensor helps the colors displayed appear deeper and the image appear clearer.

Optics

The trinocular head is equipped with a trinocular tube for mounting a digital camera. Using the switch on the body, the light is directed completely onto the eyepiece tubes or the digital camera. The 30° angle of the eyepiece tubes is comfortable for long-term observations and does not cause strain on the neck muscles. The left tube has a diopter adjustment ring in which it rotates and adapts the microscope optics to the user's unique vision.

The nosepiece nosepiece is designed for the simultaneous installation of five objectives, including four already included in the package. An additional lens from the MAGUS accessory range can be purchased separately. All objectives are designed to work with 0.17 mm thick coverslips. Thanks to the “far from the observer” design of the revolver, the objective inserted into the optical path is clearly visible during work, which makes the researcher's work more comfortable. The grooves of the nosepiece objective holder are centered.

Illumination

The illumination source is located under the object stage, i.e. observations are made in transmitted light. The 30W halogen lamp produces bright, eye-pleasing illumination, suitable for use on all lenses. Adjusting the illumination using the Köhler method allows for higher contrast and better image quality.

The microscope is equipped with a polarizer and analyzer. To work in polarized light, the analyzer is introduced into the optical path and the polarization angle is changed by rotating the polarizer and analyzer relative to each other. The microscope also has an intermediate tube that holds a Bertrand lens and has a housing for compensators. Compensators improve the contrast of samples with low birefringence, and the Bertrand lens is designed forconopic studies.

Stage and focusing mechanism

The stage of the microscope rotates and this allows you to quickly change the refraction of light by the sample when working in polarized light. The stage is centered with respect to the optical axis of the microscope, has a gradation of the angle of rotation and a scale that allows you to determine the angle with a precision of 0.1°.

The setting mechanism in focus provides coarse and fine adjustment of sharpness. A coarse focus lock is available for coarse focusing, and you can also adjust the coarse tension for more comfortable control.

Accessories

Optional eyepieces, objectives, digital cameras and calibration slides are available for the microscope. They expand the capabilities of the microscope to carry out the tasks of researchers.

Key features of the microscope:

  • Observations in transmitted light in bright field and with polarization methods
