MAGUS Metal D600 BD digital metallographic microscope - MAGUS
The MAGUS Metal D600 BD metallographic digital microscope is designed for the study of objects in reflected light using bright field, dark field and polarization microscopy techniques. The microscope is used to examine metal and semiconductor samples, as well as other highly reflective polished and flat samples. The transmitted light technique allows the examination of translucent samples such as thin films and particles stuck on filters. The microscope can be used in the mechanical and metallurgical engineering sectors, in engineering and quality control laboratories and in polytechnics.

Digital camera
The camera digital MAGUS CLM30 is designed for the dark field and fluorescence microscopy technique. The camera is equipped with an 8.3 MP sensor and produces realistic images at a resolution of 3840x2160 px. It is recommended to use the camera with 4x, 10x, 20x and 40x lenses. When using low magnification lenses, the camera allows the user to see sharper details.
Videos are recorded at 45 fps or 70 fps depending on the resolution - videos flow smoothly with smooth and delicate transactions between frames. The movement of the sample is shown in real time, without delays. The camera facilitates the observation of moving objects and is suitable for academic demonstrations.
The camera is equipped with a USB 3.0 interface. The data transfer speed is 10 times faster than USB 2.0 cameras. The high-speed camera is recommended for professional laboratories, research or university education.
Optics
The trinocular head is equipped with a trinocular tube for viewing housing a digital camera. The beam splitter directs the light onto the camera, at two positions: 100:0 and 0:100. The light beam reaches the eyepiece or trinocular tube. Diopter adjustment ring on the left eyepiece.
The magnification of the microscope in the basic configuration is 50–400x. Any additional objectives and eyepieces will increase the magnification range. The microscope uses planachromatic objectives with a long working distance suitable for bright- and dark-field microscopy techniques. There are five slots in the nosepiece nosepiece to mount objectives. Four lenses are included and one is optional. The nosepiece is oriented towards the inside of the instrument, so that the user can see which objective is inserted in the optical path.
Illumination
The lighting uses warm light halogen lamps that do not tire the eye during long-lasting observations. The transmitted light illuminator has a power of 30 W and the reflected light illuminator of 50 W, which guarantees comfortable observation via dark field microscopy.
The reflected light illumination system contains: a dark field device, polarization device, centerable field and aperture diaphragms for the Köhler illumination method and color filters. It is also possible to center the light source.
The transmitted light illumination system includes: a condenser with a folding lens for low magnification objectives, an aperture and a field diaphragm for the Köhler method.
Stage and focusing mechanism
The sample moves together with the stage along the two axes. The height of the examined sample must not exceed 20 mm. The stage features a transparent glass slide for observation of translucent specimens.
Focus is adjusted by means of coarse and fine focus knobs located on both sides at the bottom of the microscope , thus allowing the observer to freely place his hands on the table rather than holding them in the air. The coarse focus mechanism features a lock knob on the right and a tension adjustment knob on the left.
Accessories
The range of compatible accessories with the MAGUS Metal 600 BD microscope includes: objectives with a long distance for dark and bright field observations, eyepieces, calibration slides and digital cameras.
Key features of the microscope:
- Observations of opaque and polished flat specimens up to 20 mm in reflected light using dark-field, bright-field and polarization microscopy techniques
- Observations of translucent specimens in transmitted light
- Trinocular tube for mounting a digital camera and a beam splitter with two positions (100:0 and 0:100)
- Planachromatic objectives with a long working distance. The acronym BD means that it is suitable for dark and bright field techniques
